Tonga has qualified for the Junior World Rugby Trophy grand final after an impressive 28-22 victory over the United States in their final pool match.
The Kingdom needed to win, ideally with a bonus point, and hope other results went their way.
Tonga scored twice in each half and led 16-6 at the break before withstanding a late fightback from the Americans, who were previously unbeaten having been relegated from last year's elite Junior World Championship.
Both teams finished with 10 points from three matches, with Tonga finishing higher courtesy of their head to head victory.
Georgia failed to score a bonus point in their victory over Hong Kong to ensure Tonga advanced to the title decider against Japan, who finished top of Group B.
