There are reports from Vanuatu that tropical cyclone Lusi has killed one person.
Lusi is bringing strong winds and rain to northern Vanuatu.
It is about 120 kilometres south-east of Santo and is expected to be upgraded from category one to possibly category three as it moves towards western Fiji over the next day or so.
The Vanuatu Disaster Management Office says it has felled coconut trees and damaged banana and cassava crops at Ambae in Penama Province.
The Fiji Meteorological Service warns Lusi is intensifying and although the centre is going to remain west of Fiji, it will still bring dangerous hurricane force winds.
