The New Zealand-based Pacific Cooperation Foundation has appointed its new CEO.

Laulu Mac Leauanae has previously worked with the Pacific Business Trust, ProCare Health, and was the General Manager of Pure Pacifika Limited.

The PCF is a support organisation for Pacific and New Zealand businesses, in line with New Zealand government policy objectives.

The PCF Chairman, Peter Kiely, says Laulu's skills and expertise will guide the foundation into a new period of growth.

Laulu says he has worked extensively in both the private and public sector and he is excited to face the challenges in the job.

"The quality of supply of products, the cost of supply through logistics, and so the challenge for businesses in the Pacific is getting rid of that perception that the New Zealand market has about Pacific businesses."

Laulu Mac Leauanae says he will build on what PCF has achieved with its True Pacific brand.

The former CEO, Meg Poutasi, took up a senior position at the Department of Conservation in October 2013.
