Law enforcers in the Northern Marianas are looking into a possible link between last week's arson that led to the death of a Chinese couple, and the recent arrest of seven people for alleged distribution of methamphetamine or "ice."

The Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, James Guerrero, says his department has interviewed people regarding the double homicide, but says there is no solid lead yet that will help it solve the case.

The police chief also says when the incident ocurred, they looked into a possible link with the recent arrest of five Chinese nationals and two locals for "ice" distribution charges.

Guo Huang Xu and his wife, Qing Xiu Zheng, reportedly died from smoke inhalation as a result of the fire that razed their house to the ground.
