A high level Indonesian delegation consisting of national and local government officials will visit Fiji next week.
FBC news reports the visit will build on the momentum to strengthen the relationship between the MSG member countries and the Republic of Indonesia.
It reports the visit is also in line with the outcomes of the MSG Foreign Ministers meeting in Indonesia in January.
The delegation will participate in public lectures to create awareness and generate dialogue on the self-autonomy process and developments in the remote Papua and West Papua provinces of Indonesia.
Critics have accused the MSG foreign ministers of being courted by Indonesia and shirking on their fact-finding mission to West Papua during their visit.
The news comes as Vanuatu is said to be planning an international symposium on West Papua as an alternative to what it says is the failure of the fact-finding mission of the MSG foreign ministers.
