Samoa's Ministry of Health has a new Director General and chief executive officer Leausa Toleafoa Dr Take Naseri.
He takes over the position from the first woman appointed to the top job in health services, Palanitina Tupuimatagi Toelupe, who has served for nine years.
Leausa has worked in the medical profession for over 20 years in New Zealand and American Samoa.
The 48 year-old holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Queensland, Australia, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Papua New Guinea.
