American Samoan police are investigating the death of a fisherman on board a locally-based purse seiner, Cape Breton.
The Commissioner of Public Safety William Haleck says the man was killed in an accident on board the vessel on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Raymond Aguirre of San Diego.
An industry source said it was while the vessel was unloading for transshipment that cable fell on the victim, killing him instantly.
