An independent investigation has uncovered more than 422,000 US dollars of alleged fraud at the Papua New Guinea Defence Force's headquarters in Port Moresby.
The newspaper, The National, reports a management consultancy firm alleging two senior officers authorised unverified transactions from an account set up to cater for an officers' ball.
The newspaper reports the officer who commissioned the report has lodged a complaint against his two colleagues at the Boroko Police Station.
Copies of the report have also been delivered to Task Force Sweep, the chief secretary to the Government and the Ombudsman Commission.
