The police in Samoa have charged Manu Samoa's defense coach Muliagatele Brian Lima with two counts of actual bodily harm.
The rugby veteran is already facing charges of armed with a dangerous weapon, and threatening words.
The police spokesman and assistant police commissioner, Fauono Talalelei Tapu, says the accused has been released on bail and is awaiting a court appearance next month.
Muliagatele, who has previously been charged with assaulting his former wife, was warned not to approach the victim as one of the conditions of his bail.
