The Vanuatu Nurses' Association says it understands all medical staff suspended by the acting director general of health have now had their suspensions lifted.
The acting director-general of health, Dr Santus Wari, told staff on Tuesday that they were suspended for six months on half pay.
The suspensions followed a petition asking the prime minister, Moana Carcasses, to remove the health minister, Serge Vohor, and Dr Wari over the revamping of the health system and a lack of consultation.
The Association's vice-president, Anne Pakoa, says nurses feel frightened to voice their opinions because of the threat of suspension or demotion.
