It is hoped that a new bill legislating integrity in public life and leadership in Solomon Islands will be before parliament next month.
The Leadership Bill 2013 is now at draft stage and will be discussed by cabinet before it goes to parliament.
But the Leadership Code Commission's chairperson, Emmanuel Kouhata, told the Solomon Star because it is still to go to cabinet he cannot give any details on the bill's contents.
He says national consultations on the bill throughout the provinces have found that people want greater accountability, transparency and good governance.
Mr Kouhata says the final draft will accommodate the views of the public.
