Oceania Football has announced the shortlist of nominees for the regions 2012 player of the year awards.
The award takes into account performances for club and country between January and December of 2012 only.
The ten men's finalists are headed by New Zealand and West Ham United defender Winston Reid, along with New Caledonia's Georges Gope-Fenepej and Tahitian pair Nicolas Vallar and Alvin Tehau, who helped their country win the Oceania Nations Cup.
New Zealand and Wolfsburg defender Rebecca Smith will have a chance to defend her award from 2011.
The 32 year old, who announced her retirement from football in September, is one of six Football Ferns included among the women's nominees.
Papua New Guinea pair Daisy Winas and Deslyne Siniu are nominated once again, while New Caledonia's Kim Maguire has been included for the first time.
