Urban centres in the Marshall Islands will soon be lit with solar powered street lighting systems.
The project funded by the Pacific Environment Community Fund will see 78 solar powered LED street lights installed in urban areas.
The secretary general of the Pacific Islands Forum secretariat which manages the PEC Fund, Tuiloma Neroni Slade, says the project will reduce reliance on environmentally damaging fossil fuels.
