China and Tonga exchange congratulatory diplomatic messages

The premier of China, Li Keqiang, and his Tongan counterpart, Lord Tu'ivakano, have exchanged congratulatory messages to mark 15 years of diplomatic relations.

Li says there is mutual political respect and trust, win-win pragmatic economic cooperation and mutual support in multilateral affairs.

He says China attaches importance to the relationship and is willing to work with Tonga to further bilateral ties and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Lord Tu'ivakano says both governments have established a sincere and friendly relationship that has yielded fruits while mutual understanding has been deepened.

The Tonga leader says he hopes the friendly and cooperative relations will be consolidated in the future.
