Former Papua New Guinea Police Commissioner Gari Baki has been appointed as the new Director General of the National Intelligence Organisation.
Mr Baki, 56 years-old from West New Britain Province, has served in the Papua New Guinea Constabulary for 36 years, four of which as Commissioner of the Force.
In a short interview with the Post Courier Mr Baki said the Organisation is a key institution in alerting and gathering vital information for intelligence and it supports of law enforcement, national security, defence and foreign policy objectives.
His appointment is for a four year term.
