4:14 pm on 22 October 2013

A 25 year old mother in Samoa is facing one count of infanticide after her new born baby boy was found dead on a family property at Vaitele fou village.

The police say a dog dragged the baby to the family land where it was found dead without arms.

The defendant, Seutatia Ta'ina, has appeared in court for mention but her case has been adjourned until November the 5th for police to receive a pathologist report on the post mortem and to complete their investigation.

The prosecution lawyers have agreed with the presiding judge that the pathologist report would determine if the defendant may face the serious charge of murder.
