One of the products offered by Utah-based Zions Bank that the American Samoa government is excited about, is a commercial card program which offers rebates for purchases.

Zions Bank is taking over today all 26 banking accounts for the territorial government that has been held for some four decades by Bank of Hawai'i, which is shutting down local operations in March 2014.

Zions Bank says it is very exciting to be offering soon the commercial card program for the territorial government allowing the management of expenses as well as making purchase and vendor payments.

Zions executive vice president of corporate services, Jacob Heugly, says the bank gives back to card users a percentage of what they spend depending on how quickly vendors pay the bank.

The government's Treasurer, Falema'o 'Phil' M. Pili says he is very excited about this program, because it offers rebates on purchase made on the card.
