American Samoa High school sports resumes next week

11:09 am on 1 October 2013

American Samoa High school sports will resume next week after a three-week ban.

The Director of Education Vaitinasa Dr Salu Hunkin-Finau has announced this morning that the ban on school sports will be lifted the week of October the 7th.

The director cancelled all High school sports after a bus carrying a high school sports team was belted with stones after a volleyball game at Fagaitua High School.

Vaitinasa says there will be no evening games, and all sports will be held during the day time, with some games to be held on Saturday.

"If there are any repercussions or any negative impact on this decision with regards to resuming the games at the school level or off campus where games will be held, we will cancel games for the rest of the semester."
