Fiji has suggested it will only consider rejoining the Pacific Islands Forum, if its key donors, Australia and New Zealand, quit the organisation.
Fiji was suspended in 2009 after its leader, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, reneged on a 2007 promise to Forum leaders that he would cede power to an elected government in 2009.
However, Solomon Islands has this week restated that it sees no reason why Fiji should be left out.
Fiji's foreign minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, says for Fiji to rejoin, the Forum has to change:
"Everybody is equal in the Pacific Islands Forum; for example Australia and New Zealand, they need to decide whether they are donor or also a member in the Pacific Islands Forum. They are donor, then they stay out."
