Papua New Guinea's Toea Wisil was the pick of the Pacific athletes on day two of the World Athletics Championships in Moscow, clocking 11.61 seconds in the women's 100 metres.

It was two tenths of a second off her personal best, set in April, but good enough to finish in a tie for 31st place.

Lovelite Detenamo from Nauru ran a season best time of 12.35 to finish 37th.

The next best Pacific sprinter was Patricia Taea from the Cook Islands while there were new personal best times from French Polynesia's Hereiti Bernardino, Palau's Rubie Joy Gabriel and Kabotaake Romeri from Kiribati.
