The United Nations Emergency Relief Coordinator has approved a rapid response grant to help drought victims in the Marshall Islands.
Valerie Amos has released one million US dollars, which will go towards the Marshall Islands government's drought response plan.
The humanitarian needs for more than 6,000 people living on the affected islands and atolls remain urgent.
The UN says the grant will be implemented by the International Organisation for Migration.
