The Commonwealth Health Centre in the Northern Marianas has been guaranteed five million US dollars by the government to buy medical equipment.

The interim chief executive of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, Esther Muna, says the funds will come from re-allocated monies previously intended for capital improvement projects on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

The Saipan Tribune says some of the money will go an air-conditioning system replacement for the hospital, plus sprinklers, elevators, and a water pump.
