Guam's Governor not confident with US defence

The Governor of Guam has admitted that he isn't 100 percent confident in the missile defence system the US is installing in the territory.

Earlier this week, the Pentagon announced that it would deploy an advanced missile defence system which includes interceptor missiles, tracking radar and an integrated fire control system to protect Guam in case of an attack from North Korea.

But speaking to CNN, Governor Eddie Calvo says he isn't entirely confident in the system's ability to protect the territory.

"The concern we have is, all you need is that one lucky shot. And that one lucky shot from a North Korean missile could do a lot of damage to our island home."

Governor Calvo says the territory is only a three hour flight from the Korean Peninsula, and the threat of an attack is very real for Guam.
