Fiji aims for full mobile and broadband coverage

1:04 pm on 1 March 2013

The Fiji government says it aims to provide every Fijian, irrespective of where they live, with access to affordable mobile telephone and broadband services.

The plan was announced by the Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum at a conference in Spain.

According to the Fiji Village website mobile coverage will continue to expand to areas that have poor coverage or no coverage at all.

The report makes no mention of when full coverage is expected to be attained, nor does it say what it will cost to roll out the broadband.
