A police officer in the Northern Marianas has killed himself after shooting his girlfriend outside a bar in Garapan.
The woman was hit in the shoulder and is in hospital.
The officer has been named as 24-year-old Josef Deleon Guerrero.
The shooting happened in a parking lot next to the bar owned by the acting Department of Public Safety commissioner Ambrosio Ogumoro.
Our correspondent says a domestic dispute appeared to have triggered the shooting.
