Police in Samoa investigate alleged illegal drug operation, one arrested

Samoa police have confiscated methamphetamine and a number of cannabis plants found during a raid at a business in Pesega, and a family home at Faleula village.

The two separate premises belong to a 40 year-old business man who is now in police custody and under investigation following the raid.

The spokesperson and assistant police commissioner, Leaupepe Fatu Pula, says methamphetamine powder was found at the suspect's business location where it may have been manufactured.

No other details have been released as police are continuing investigations.
