Samoa police corruption inquiry ongoing

Samoa's attorney-general says investigations into allegations of corruption within Samoa's police force are ongoing.

An investigation began after claims involving a number of offices were made in a letter sent to the Prime Minister, the Police Minister and the Police Commissioner.

The attorney-general, Aumua Ming Leung Wai, says local media reports that the investigations had been completed are incorrect.

"At present my office has selected various police officers to conducts the investigations together with a representative of the ombudsman's office. At present investigations are continuing and they have not been finalised."

Aumua wouldn't comment on when the inquiry might end.
