Sport: Fa'arodo to lead Solomon Islands in World cup qualifiers

10:37 am on 30 August 2012

Solomon Islands veteran Henry Fa'arodo will again lead his country in next month's Oceania Stage 3 World Cup qualifying matches.

The 29 year old returned to Solomon Islands last week from New Zealand and has been training with the nation team.

Bonitos technical adviser Laurent Papillon says Fa'arodo is a fundamental part of the squad, which will host Tahiti at Lawson Tama Stadium in the first of six qualifying matches next Friday.

Fa'arodo says it's important to get their campaign off to a winning start in order to keep their world cup dream alive.
