Two Samoa police officers injured in a police operation to clear a road block by villagers in Satapuala have been discharged from hospital.

The police assistant commissioner, Leaupepe Fatu Pula, says a scuffle between police and several village men who refused to clear the road block resulted in rocks being thrown at his officers, injuring the two.

Meanwhile Leaupepe says police also found a fully loaded 223 rifle hidden in car owned by a Satapuala villager.

However, no one has been charged relating to both matters as police continue to provide security around the disputed land opposite Faleolo International airport.
