New Zealand to represent Oceania at world cups

New Zealand will represent Oceania at both this year's FIFA under 17 and 20s women's world cups.

On Saturday, at the Oceania championships in Auckland, New Zealand charged into the under 20 world cup in Japan after a 12 nil win against Samoa in their final group game.

Papua New Guinea scored a 4-2 win against New Caledonia to leapfrog their opponents into second place.

In the under 17s New Zealand defeated Papua New Guinea 9 nil on the final day of their championship to earn the right to represent Oceania in Azerbaijan in August.

The Cook Islands finished third behind PNG after a 3 nil win against New Caledonia.
