Unidentified gunmen in the Papua region have shot dead an Indonesian soldier.
The Jakarta Post says the soldier was shot in the head and had his assault rifle taken in front of a shop.
He died on his way to hospital in Mulia.
The Cenderawasih military commander says there are several armed civilian groups roaming the areas around Puncak Jaya.
