The Nauru Government's 'people's store' has re-opened, offering a variety of frozen, fresh and canned food products as well as other household items at afforda-ble prices.

The store, called the Eigigu Supermarket, has operated in various forms since independence.

It shut down about 18 months ago, but was re-opened last week with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the President Sprent Dabwido.

The store is much smaller than it used to be but the government advises that it should stock the essentials needed by the average Nauruan grocery shopper.
