Most agencies under the government executive in the CNMI will now be closed every Friday instead of every-other-Friday as part of the ongoing austerity measures in the territory.
The reduction in hours remains the same at 16 for each two week period with longer days now being worked Monday through Thursday.
The governor, Benigno Fitial, says the government will continue to observe 16 hour cuts to ensure the administration stays within its budget of 102 million US dollars.
He's also warned workers that tardiness and excessive abuse of work schedules won't be tolerated.
