Two large containers loaded with groceries have arrived on Rota in the Northern Marianas after a delay of more than two weeks.
Rota residents had experienced a shortage of rice and other supplies last week after the island's stores ran out of stocks.
An expected delivery a fortnight ago never happened forcing many on Rota to ask relatives on Saipan to send emergency supplies by air.
The Saipan shipping agent says the delay was due to a a broken generator on the ship carrying the goods.
