Former Manu Samoa rugby player takes rugby union to court

11:17 am on 18 June 2011

The court in Samoa is hearing a case filed by former Manu Samoa star, Peter Poulos against the Samoa Rugby Union.

Poulos is seeking insurance from the union as a result of a neck injury he suffered

in 2006.

He was diagnosed with a serious injury and was flown to New Zealand straight away.

He received all the specialist treatment and the final result showed his career was

over.

Poulos said he was told by his team's management he was covered prior to the game he was injured in, and that gave him confidence in the system.

But he said that wasn't the reality.
