Vanuatu's prime minister, Sato Kilman, has welcomed a court of appeal decision which has reinstated him as the country's leader.
The court overturned on Friday a Supreme Court ruling last month that the decision of the speaker on April the 24th to declare a motion to topple Mr Kilman as prime minster was constitutional and effective.
The appeal court however said the ruling by the speaker, Maxime Carlot Korman, was unconstitutional and Mr Kilman is still the prime minister.
It also said the election of Serge Vohor as prime minister to replace Mr Kilman was also unconstitutional.
Sato Kilman and his ministers have now returned to their respective offices.
Mr Kilman said he is pleased the court accepted his appeal because it showed the provisions of the constitution have been observed, and people of Vanuatu can still believe in their constitution.
He also said if the appeal court had been in favour of the speaker, he would have accepted that also.
