A former Fiji officer, suspended over an alleged plot to mutiny, says the latest case is all about creating fear and harassment.
A former Land Forces Commander, Brigadier General Pita Driti and Colonel Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, appeared in court this week, on sedition charges.
Brigadier General Driti was also charged inciting mutiny.
Jone Baledrokadroka was the land forces commander before his suspension in January 2006.
He questions why the case appeared first before a civilian court, and not a military tribunal.
"It's all about fear and harassment. A group of people are leading the country now who have just gone totally off the rails, if you want my opinion. They wake up every morning, and think of how to stay in power, and this is one of the things that Bainimarama has done. This is typical of Bainimarama. This is how he shafts his right and left hand man of the 2006 coup."
Jone Baledrokadroka says there should have been a military inquiry, and if there was sufficient evidence, the president should have ordered a court martial.
Police have declined to say if more people will be charged in connection with the latest alleged plot.
