Continental Micronesia merges with United Airlines

Within the next few months, the North Pacific's major airline will be sporting a new look.

For 43-years, the north Pacific has been served by one airline, Continental Micronesia, but the airline has merged with United Airlines, establishing the world's largest airline.

By mid-year, Continental Micronesia planes will begin sporting a new look, with the word 'United' replacing the Continental lettering as part of merger of these two air carriers.

The Continental logo will remain on the tail of the planes, the only visible reminder of the carrier that first linked the remote Micronesian islands to Hawaii beginning in 1968.
