Snorkelling with a humpback whale in Niue has made the Lonely Planet's top five Pacific experiences.
The other's include a homestay in Fiji, diving in Vanuatu, secluded inland waters in Samoa and hiking in the Cook Islands.
The co-owner of the dive company in Niue that runs the snorkelling trips, Annie Gray, says making the top five was a pleasant surprise.
"I think it's one of those things that will have a filter effect, over the next few years the numbers will certainly noticeably increase I would imagine."
