15 appear in court in Solomon Islands for disturbance following Lusibaea sentence

Fifteen men appeared in court on Monday in Solomon Islands facing charges in relation to the disturbance that followed the sentencing of former cabinet minister Jimmy Lusibaea late last month.

The Solomon Star reports one juvenile who pleaded guilty in the Magistrates Court was discharged, while another juvenile was bound over for 18 months.

The remaining 13 men will appear in court again on Friday, along with at least 13 others facing similar charges.

Four other men pleaded guilty last Friday and were sentenced to between one month and nine months in prison.
