Vanuatu has officially launched a new electronic passport system, made possible through aid assistance from New Zealand.
Part of that money is going towards a new passport office in Port Vila, which should be completed next year.
The director of the Vanuatu passport, Henri Tamashiro, says that more than a thousand of the new-style passports have already been printed.
