A new Chief Justice has been appointed in Tonga.
Michael Dishington Scott replaces Anthony Ford, who left Tonga this month to take up a post on New Zealand's Employment Court.
A Government release says Justice Scott is from the United Kingdom and has lived and worked in Pacific countries, including Fiji, Kiribati and Solomon Islands, since 1978.
It says Justice Scott served as a judge of Fiji's High Court for 14 years before being appointed in 2004 for a three-year term as the Resident Justice of the Fiji Court of Appeal.
