International observers from the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, Australia and New Zealand, have voiced concerns about aspects of the Solomon Islands election.
The observers monitored voting at 330 polling stations in 29 of the 50 electorates and say it was orderly, peaceful and friendly.
But they have called for some changes.
These include a comprehensive review of the electoral roll, allowances for absentee voters and extensive training for electoral officials .
The observers say work needs to be done to ascertain why some stations couldn't clear queues of voters by the time they closed at 5pm, with a number denied the chance to vote.
