The former Solomon Islands Attorney General, Julian Moti, is likely stand trial on child sex charges next year in the Brisbane Supreme Court.
A fresh indictment charging the 44-year-old over the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in Noumea and Vanuatu in 1997 was filed today.
Mr Moti was first arrested and charged with the alleged offences in 2007.
Two years later the charges were thrown out and then revived after an Appeal court ruling.
The trial is not expected until next year.
Mr Moti remains on bail.
