Solomon Islanders have ten days to check draft list of voters

10:21 am on 27 April 2010

From today Solomon Islanders have ten days to check the draft list of voters and the Chief Electoral Officer, Polycarp Haununu, is urging them to do so.

He says it will help the Electoral Commission make a better list for this year's general election.

Mr Haununu says if people have any problems with the content on the roll they need to tell a registration official.

He says the Commission wants people to ensure they are registered to vote in only one place.

Mr Haununu says community support is the only way that a better list can be produced for the coming election.
