Latest estimates from Fiji's disaster management agency say it will cost nearly five million US dollars to rehabilitate housing structures damaged and destroyed by Cyclone Tomas in Fiji's eastern division.

According to the website Fijilive, the damage caused by the cyclone totals 33 million US dollars.

The government vessel, the MV Iloilovatu, has been sent to the northern division with extra relief supplies and to assist with the President's tour.

The French navy ship Vendemiaire has left for the Lau islands with relief supplies and 15 government officials on board.

The ship carries a helicopter to assist in the loading and off-loading of relief supplies to the islands in the eastern division.
