The European Union has unveiled plans to help develop agriculture in Vanuatu, with grants of more than eight million US dollars.
The charge d'affaires of the EU in Port Vila, Nicolas Berlanga Martinez, says this assistance will help to develop agriculture, extension services and banking in the islands.
He says the money is to finance developments projects owned by ni-Vanuatu.
The grants come a week after the EU agreed to contribute budget support of just over one million US dollars to the government of Edward Natapei.
