A new call centre company is now in negotiations with the American Samoa Government to establish in the territory.
The Governor's legal counsel, Tooters Tuiteleleapaga, says they are in discussions both with Info Tech, whose plan to start a major call centre has stalled, and new company Cooney Solutions Group.
John Newton is now with Cooney but he has had links to both companies.
He had complained earlier that the biggest delaying factor for Info Tech was the failure of the government to come up with a lease, as per its earlier commitments.
Mr Newton says Cooney hopes to begin operations with 50 employees in the first quarter of 2010 and build up to 300 employees.
