ANZ Amerika Samoa Bank has had positive response to a new product it introduced last month to help customers save money for unexpected events and faalavelave.
The bank recognizes that the majority of people depend on loans when faced with an emergency and has introduced the Fast Saver account to get them into the habit of saving little by little rather than borrowing.
ANZ Bank CEO, David Whitby, says there's been a good level of interest from customers since the product was launched.
Bank official Fiona Aisake adds that people coming in with their tax refunds and tax credit checks have opened fast Saver accounts after learning of the benefits from bank tellers.
