Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil is considering pulling out of Solomon Islands after its headquarters was burnt to the ground in a suspected arson.
The company replaced Solomon Islands Plantations which closed down in 1999 during the ethnic tensions, and its headquarters were also burnt down three years ago.
the company's general manager, Harry Brock, says in this incident, it was burnt completely to the ground.
He is appealing to the public to assist police in their inquiries, as he is sure someone in the area knows who is behind the fire.
"[We] as a company now have to sit down and seriously think about where we are going with this investment. We have a very successful business in Papua New Guinea. That is where the bulK of our business is. If we are going to continue having these frustrations, then you have to seriously ask the question, is it wise to be here."
